If you guys follow me on Instagram, then you know this past weekend I recently attended #rStheCon. If you are not a fashion blogger, I am sure you are thinking. What the heck is that? First of all, a little lingo lesson. #rStheCon stands for rewardStyle the Conference; Which is a 3 day conference held in downtown Dallas (my hood) at the Joule hotel for rewardStyle‘s top 200 digital publishers. The weekend is filled with brand meetings, expert panels, classroom sessions, group discussions, parties, and of course fashion overload. Think of it as a mini fashion week, without the runway shows! Since I have only been blogging for a little over a year, this was my first year to attend. I still think it was some kind of mistake that little ole’ me was extended an invite, but hey! I didn’t ask questions.
Over my next few posts I am going to be recapping my weekend, along with my outfits for the conference. Now lets get started with Day 1 🙂
Day one we checked into the Joule hotel and were immediately greeted with champagne (now we’re talking’) and given our badges and information for the weekend. Two of my fellow Dallas bloggers, Christina, of Fashion and Frills, and Amanda, of The Miller Affect shared a room the weekend of the conference. Even though we are all Dallas-based and lived 2 miles away, we still wanted the experience of staying in the hotel with all of the other bloggers and it was just so nice to have all of our things at the hotel (I will spare you the pictures, but by the end of the conference our room was an absolute tornado!) After check-in we all got ready for the opening party, hosted by one of my favorite brands, Missguided.
The theme was resort wear, so I wore this blush jumpsuit, with my signature accessory, a fun pair of statement earrings. I think this might have been my favorite look from the entire conference. You guys all know how much I love rompers, so it’s a given that I also have a love for its sister-style, the jumpsuit. I was first drawn to the feminine color for this blush jumpsuit, which also happens to be Pantone’s color of the year. Secondly, I am a fan of jumpsuits because the give you legs for days girls!!! Like you slip it on, put on your favorite (but comfortable) pair of heels, and your legs instantly look a foot longer. I also loved the tie detail this one had, to accentuate the waist!
The party was hosted on the rooftop of the hotel, with the pool overlooking downtown. There was beach decor, pool floaties, a DJ, and amazing cocktails. This night was amazing because I got a chance to catch up with some of my favorite blogger babes who were in town for the conference, as well as meet some new ones. There were so many bloggers there that I stalk…errr I mean, admire! I was a little nervous, but everyone was so friendly and excited to be there! It was a great night to kick off the weekend. We ended the night by having dinner at one of my favorite Dallas restaurants, Saint Ann’s. I loved being able to introduce some of the ladies from out of town to one of my favorite Dallas spots. It was also nice to be able to sit down and talk! I had the opportunity to sit by Lauren, from Edit by Lauren and she was the sweetest ever!
That’s a wrap from day 1! What is your thoughts on the jumpsuit? You will probably be seeing this little number again 🙂 Can’t wait to share the rest of my weekend with you guys!
