I will be honest, I was not that crazy about ponchos at first. How does it stay on? Why can’t I just wear a snuggie and call it a poncho? This is literally just a blanket with a big chunk cut out of it. Self admittedly, I was kind of a poncho snob. Then last year before traveling to New York, I gave in and purchased one. I wore it traveling to and from, and it was AMAZING. Don’t want to bring your blanket on the plane. BAM. You are wearing one!!
Okay in all seriousness, ponchos have won me over. They are a chic way to easily dress up any outfit, and they keep you warm! As you can see I paired this one with a black swing dress, which adds some color! I am thinking I will wear this poncho for Thanksgiving on Thursday to conceal the massive food baby I will be rocking.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, what are your plans/family traditions? I grew up on a ranch in Central Texas so in true redneck style we will be having Thanksgiving in a barn this year (I swear I am not joking). Yep. Complete with your choice of being a pilgrim or Indian, hats and accessories included. We usually eat Thanksgiving at lunch time then spend the day watching football, shooting clay pigeons, and riding 4wheelers, then circle back for leftovers at dinnertime. Wow, looking back reading this you are probably thinking “oh dear, this girl probably dates her cousins”. Haha! I swear we are not as redneck as it sounds. I love our family traditions, and where I am from. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving, there are so many blessings to be thankful for!
