All Things Cozy

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! I wanted to get into a little coffee talk with you guys today and get real. While I love sharing my outfits with you guys everyday this year I challenged myself to get a little more “real” and transparent here on the blog and share more of my life and behind the scenes with you guys!

Today I want to share with you what a typical day at home looks like for me! If you didn’t know already, for the past 4 years post college I have never worked in a corporate environment. I have always worked remotely. So my days look a little differently than most with a 9-5 schedule. Especially with taking the blog full time and solely working for myself I have more than ever had to find a schedule that works best for me and results in a good work/life balance! One question I constantly get all the time- “so do you work in your pajamas all day?” . Well…. to be honest, sometimes yes. About once a week there are days where I hunker down and don’t leave my house and stay in my pajamas/lounge clothes all day! Which honestly I love…. mainly because I have this weird addiction to pajamas and loungewear. Seriously, every Christmas I am pretty sure almost everyone I know gifts me pajamas of some sort. They are also my go-to gift for others as well. I purchase just about all of my sleepwear from Nordstrom, because duh. Y’all know how loyal I am to Nordstrom. However, did you guys know they also have a pretty freaking amazing selection of sleep and loungewear? My thing is, often as I wear them (I mean hello, sometimes I don’t take them off all day), I know that the items Nordstrom carries are always great quality and that is something that has become super important for me and the items I invest in. Okay…. currently writing this post from a coffee shop but now all I want to do is go home and put on my pajamas! haha!

Anyways…back to my day! So I will say that I am not really a morning person. However, I have found that I am most productive in the mornings (after I have had my coffee of course). So I try to be up and moving every morning by 7am. My biggest thing is getting out of bed (especially when I am snuggling with Ellie), but once I am vertical I am good and usually ready to get going! Like I said usually one day a week I commit to spending at home in my pajamas working on my computer, that is usually Mondays for me! I typically catch up on emails, write blog posts, and plan out the week ahead!

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays I typically work on blog and computer work all morning (a lot of times from my favorite coffee shops– going to round up a post on my Dallas favorites soon!), then I will usually eat lunch, shoot looks for the blog, run a few errands, have meetings, or do some things around the house! I just can’t sit in font of my computer all-day everyday, I would go crazy! Then from about 3-5 or 6 I continue with emails, posts, editing, etc. I try my best to “call it a day” by 6pm. The thing I have found about working from home is that your work never really stops! Especially if it is something you love. So I try to disconnect. Besides, usually I have dinner plans, events, or cook dinner in the evenings and it is so nice to unplug.

Fridays are a little bit different for me! Typically on Fridays I will work for about 3 hours in the morning, then I pick up my previous employers two young girls from school and spend the afternoon with them. I worked for my previous boss for almost 4 years so they are practically my family– I love that I get to spend Fridays with them and mix things up a little from my typical work week!

Working from home is a constant challenge. It has definitely been some trial and error to find a schedule that works for me. Time management has also never been a strong suit of mine, so that is something I am continuously improving. I would love to share a post with you guys soon on some of my tricks of working from home! Or if you have any tips for me, I would love to hear? I would also love some confirmation that I am not the only one who spends all day in my pajamas?

I love this post. I’m a newbie blogger and always wonder how other bloggers spend their day, how much time they spend blogging. I wonder if I’m spending enough time on my blog or too much time. Thanks to this post, I now feel like I’m spending the right amount of time! Just waiting for brands to notice. But I know that’ll take time.

    Thanks for this post!

      Hey lady!!!

Ahhh I am so glad you found this helpful– I do want to go into more detail about what I specifically allocate my time to in another post! I honestly think there is no right or wrong way…. it just takes a ton of time, hard work, and diligence and once it starts to pay off, it is SO worth it!!! Best of luck– your blog is amazing you are doing a great job!
