Raise your hand if you basically lived in the sun, tanned in tanning beds, didn’t own moisturizer, and slept in your makeup most of your teens and twenties (raises two hands). Ummmm yeah, me too. I am literally cringing right now thinking about how much I neglected my skin for years. I will be honest, I really didn’t start making a conscious effort to take better care of my skin until I was in my mid-twenties. I might not be able to go back and un-do all the damage I have done over the years, but I CAN do my absolute best to take care of it now.

Let me start off by saying that I have combination/oily skin. I used to think that using moisturizer and product would actually make my skin MORE oily…. ha! Incase you didn’t know (which I am sure most of you do), when you don’t properly take care of and moisturize your skin it actually produces more oil! So over the past few years I guess you could say I have been on a skincare journey and educated myself with the products that are best for me and my skin type. I also want to say that skincare is not a one product/line fits all. What someone else might SWEAR by, might not necessarily be the best product for you and your skin. I am always trying new skincare products and I started using Dermatologist’s Choice back in September (I want you guys to know that I would NEVER recommend a product to you, especially something like skincare which takes TIME to see results if I haven’t used it at least 2-3 months), and there are a few products of theirs I really love and want to share with you all. You can check out all of their skincare lines and products here but today I want to share with you my favorites that I used.

  1. The pH balanced cleanser– I am a psycho about washing my face. I probably wash it like 2-3 times a day. So a good cleanser is something I never skip and always the first step in my skincare routine. I liked this one because it has glycolic acid which is great for opening and cleansing your pores and basically setting up your skin to be more receptive to the following treatments and products you will use on it!
  2. The sunscreen enhanced moisturizer– This moisturizer I mainly use in the morning on days where I am not wearing makeup (working from home there are a lot of those days), I found this to be a little thicker which is why I preferred to use this on days I wasn’t wearing a full face of makeup! It is also SPF 35 which is amazing– I would usually put a CC cream on top of this for my more natural days.
  3. The glycolic peel cleansing pads– Okay I LOVED using these right after I finished working out and felt like my skin was just sweaty, and dirty and gross. The glycolic basically penetrates and exfoliates the skin + really felt like it was going beyond the surface and getting all the gunk out. I also love these because after I use them my skin feels firm.
  4. The deep cleansing facial mask– My FAVORITE product has to be the cleansing mask. I am totally a mask girl– I love them! Seriously, there is nothing I don’t think a good mask (while holding a glass of wine) can’t fix! If we are getting fancy this mask has glycolic, lactic, and salicylic whichhh bascially penetrate your pores and y’all I love this mask so much because you can actually FEEL it working– you know when you can just feel it in your skin? It’s amazing.

Dermatologist’s Choice has a ton of products and out of all the ones I tried these were my favorites! Are there any skincare products you guys swear by?
