Oh my goshhh you guys. It has been so much fun sharing my home decorating process with you all since I moved in the beginning of October. I also can’t believe how quickly things came together because I know how much of a process decorating a home can be (don’t get me wrong it was still a process- however, a fairly quick one because, hello #impatient). I do have to say though, I knew from the beginning the direction I wanted to go when furnishing my dining room so I think this was probably the easiest room for me- and also maybeee my favorite!
As you saw in my last blog post, I was so excited to have a space to entertain, have my friends over, and maybeee even learn to cook a thing or two so I can feed everyone something besides wine and cheese. Ha! So when it came time to bring this room to life I already knew Kathy Kuo Home would have every piece I wanted to create my dream dining room. I had been following Kathy Kuo on Instagram for awhile for home decor inspo and they have something for everyone from traditional, to french country, to modern. I would say my style is along the lines of modern- classic. I love the look and “tradtional-home-y” feel of classic pieces with a modern flair. Chic, yet still liveable. Now, let me walk you through my gorgeous dining room sharing details on my Kathy Kuo pieces along with some holiday entertaining inspo as well!
Since I have never really had a formal dining table, I did not own any fine dinnerware so this gorgeous set by Lenox was such a treat! Obviously, these are not pieces I am going to be using everyday but there is something special about entertaining with fine china. It reminds me of holiday dinners at my grandmothers house with my entire family sitting around her grand dining table. I love the gold detail on all of the plates, bowls, and glass rims- it really ties in the glam without being too much. I had also been wanting some gold flatware to accompany it and I think it looks perfect!
Next up what I think are the stars of the show are my rustic dining table and white bamboo chippendale chairs. I was certain from the very beginning that I wanted to pair white bamboo chairs (which have very glam Hollywood regency vibes) with more of a rustic, french-country wooden dining table. My vision for this turned out even better than I imagined. Surprisingly, when I first started looking around bamboo chairs were hard to come across (unless they were vintage and cost an arm and a leg), so I about lost it when I found these Bungalow 5 chairs on Kathy Kuo’s website. I was actually WAY more excited when they arrived in person because the seat cushions are more of a beige color, while on the website they appear to be white like the chair- which I still loved, but was just worried about keeping clean. My friends and I love us some red wine so I feel MUCH better about the beige cushions vs white. Since my dining room is fairly small (lets go with “cozy” instead), I decided to put armless chairs on the ends as well. However, this style of chair does come in a end version with arms, which is STUNNING.
I have loved having my girlfriends over, and now I have the perfect spot for entertaining thanks to Kathy Kuo Home. Which tablescape setup is your favorite? Eeeek, I can’t decide! I love all the fresh flowers, buttt can you ever go wrong with a cheeseboard?
