New year, new me. Kiddinggg. Why is it that people feel as if they have to wait till the new year to make positive changes? With the new year and all the talk about fitness goals, I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite fitness routines I integrated into my 2017 workout regimen and why this has changed how I look at working out.
When it comes to working out, I have found that I enjoy group environments where I can have personal instruction, community, and be held accountable. I was first introduced to The PilatesBarre last summer after I started attending classes at their sister studio, The TreadBarre (you can check out my post on Tread Barre here). I will say I was a bit intimidated by Pilates Barre at first because I had never taken a pilates class before and the equipment scared me. Like what are these torture devices? haha! However, after my first class I was hooked. The instructors always do a phenomenal job at explaining the movements and giving detailed instructions throughout the workout. I would typically mix my PilatesBarre Workouts inbetween my TreadBarre classes to give my legs a break and strengthen my core, balance, posture and other muscles. My favorite part about this workout is that anyone can do it. It is a high energy, low impact workout that can cater to any fitness level.
I think one of the biggest challenges with working out is being held accountable and just showing up. One of my favorite things about The PilatesBarre is their app! I use this to schedule my workouts ahead of time so there are no excuses. The convenience and accountability factor help me plan my workouts and my weeks so I can make sure that no matter what I am making the time to get my workout in.
If any of you are in the DFW area and interested in attending a class I would LOVE for you to join me here in the new year! For more detail on The PilatesBarre check out their website here.
