About two months ago I received a package in the mail from PMD Beauty. Included in that package were a few of their top selling beauty tools that they carry. One of those tools was a personal microderm– which I was so excited about because I recognized that this was a tool that my esthetician uses when I get facials. So I was excited to see if the at home version was up to par.
Let me back up really fast and fill you in on exactly what the PMD Personal Microderm is. A personal microderm is the little gadget you see in my hand in these photos and is basically an at home spa quality microdermabrasion treatment. Microdermabrasion is basically a technique that uses exfoliation and suction to remove dead surface skin and to stimulate new collagen, elastin and cell growth. Incorporate this into your routine before you put your nightly skincare products on to help them absorb up to 20x deeper beyond just the surface of your skin. Think about it, what good are your fancy skincare products really doing if they are not able to be fully absorbed into the skin?
Like I said, I was excited to try the PMD microderm, but I really wanted to give it a few weeks to truly see what I thought. So I incorporated it into my night time routine once a week for about 8 weeks. The first time I used it I was immediately intrigued bc it left my skin SO soft. But I was like “okay Lynlee, maybe that’s just because its your first time to use it and you had so much dead skin on your face”. Y’all I’m pretty cynical when trying new products. So I continued to use it once a week over the next few weeks and each time, I got the same results. Soft, smooth, tighter feeling skin. I looked forward to doing this each week and putting on all of my products.
The PMD Microderm come with a few sensitivity disks that you can change out depending on your skin type, and also as you continue to use the product all the time you can gradually change the disks, as each one increasingly exfoliates. Also, I do want to note if you have sensitive skin- this is for all sin types. You can continue to use the “ultra sensitive” training disk until you + your skin feels comfortable graduating to a more abrasive disk. I also want to note that this treatment does not hurt at all! I don’t want to scare you with the word “abrasive”. It feels like a little tiny vacuum sucking the gunk out of your pores. It’s actually SUPER satisfying.
If you have any questions on the PMD Microderm leave them for me, and I will also be sharing how I use mine on stories soon! I feel like that will really give you the best idea of how the tool works.
