Oh hey, hello, hiiiii. Today on the blog I wanted to fill you in on all the details of #rStheCon, day 2! If you are wondering what the heck I am talking about, catch up on my first post about the conference here!
Okay, now on to day 2!
We woke up early Friday morning for our first day full of expert panels, speakers, classes, and brand meetings. My highlight of the morning was listening to rewardStyle founder, and CEO, Amber Venz-Box speak. One of my favorite points she made was how we as bloggers are not competing, but can help one another out tremendously. One stat she gave was that I would only share about 30% of the same following as one of my fellow bloggers. So why wouldn’t you want to join forces and not only expose yourself to new readers and followers, but also help one another out? This is one of the things I love about the blogging community here in Dallas. There is a large presence of fashion bloggers here, instead of feeling like we need to compete with one another, we are always supporting, uplifting, and encouraging one another. These ladies have become some of my best friends, and it is so amazing to see the genuine support we provide one another.
Following the speakers and other expert panels (side note: I really enjoyed those as well. However, I am trying to keep this post brief so I don’t lose you all) it was time for lunch. Lunch this afternoon was hosted by Rodial which is an amazing make up and skin care line. It was held right in the Joule at Americano, which just so happens to be one of my FAVORITE spots! The food was amazing, I think I ate like 5 pieces of bread and 17 meatballs so I was full before our actual lunch even came out! We received a few goodies at lunch, one of them being this contour powder. You guys, I am no makeup guru– but I have been using this all week and I LOVE! It is perfect for almost all skin tones, and doesn’t look orangey, if you know what I mean?
For the remainder of the afternoon I attended one on one brand meetings with some AMAZING brands! I can’t wait to share with you all some fun things I have in the works. Along with one on one brand meetings there was also a brand networking hall. Basically there were over 30+ brands set up in one room with a booth showcasing some of their product, as well as representatives there to chat with you about the brand. This was great because it gave you an opportunity to connect with all of the brands present at the conference, even if you did not have a one on one meeting with them. I am so incredibly awkward when it comes to pitching myself and small talk, but I am pretty proud of some of the connections I made. Each brand also had some sort of gift or goodie bag for you as well- so I walked out of the brand networking hall like I had just went on a major shopping spree. Not mad.
Now it was time to freshen up for a fun night ahead! Joe Fresh hosted a garden party for us right across the street in the perfect little lush green space in the middle of Downtown Dallas. The party had the most amazing setup. Swings lined up around the garden with orchids wrapped around, Ivy backdrops, an amazing DJ, and of course cocktails! Everyone was dressed in theme for a garden party, and looked SO amazing. It is so incredibly stressful trying to find outfits to stand out among 200+ of the most beautiful and successful bloggers in the industry. I tried my best to stay true to my personal style. One of my first places I thought of to look for the perfect outfit for the garden party was Rent The Runway! I actually ordered a few options to wear to this party because there were so many floral dresses I loved. I ended up deciding on this Yumi Kim rainbow floral dress. I loved how vibrant the colors were, and how it flowed. It also wasn’t “too dressy” so I was able to wear my favorite wedges with it, which was nice because my feet needed a break from being in high heels all day! This was probably my most comfortable outfit from the whole weekend. The material of the dress was so light and flowy, it almost felt like a nightgown! haha
We wrapped up the night by having dinner down the street with a few of my favorite ladies before calling it a night. I was so exhausted after the day. I am such an extroverted introvert, so while I loved meeting new people and networking– the day also drained me. Anyone else an extroverted introvert as well?? If so– you know what I mean.
Thank you all so much for following along with me for day 2 of #rStheCon! If you have any questions, or want to know more, always feel free to email me! You can shop my look at the top of this post, as well as at the bottom!
Happy Monday friends 🙂
