Summer Embroidery

Hi friends! Today is my Friday (insert praise hands), and I am headed to Palm Springs tomorrow with 9 of my favorite blogger babes to celebrate one my best friends, Amanda of The Miller Affect’s bachelorette party! Be sure to follow along on Instagram and my Instagram stories for all the fun! One theme I noticed while packing for my trip was how many embroidered pieces I had. I have always been a sucker for detail and embroidery, but this summer I feel like it has been everywhere and I am LOVING IT! Embroidered pieces is a good way to add some color or flair into your wardrobe if you aren’t into statement earrings or bold accessories.

I have been going crazy over all of the embroidered pieces Nordstrom has been carrying lately. Im talking tops, dresses, handbags, even shoes with some type of embroidered detail! I picked up this white and blue Free People embroidered tunic dress last week which I was immediately obsessed with the colors– I LOVE blue and white! Then, I was in trouble when I saw this came in 3 other colors. You guys know I have this weird thing that when I find something I love that comes in multiple colors… I want/need it in every color!! I seriously need help for this problem! haha

I would consider this embroidered piece a tunic. One of my favorite things about tunics is, depending on your height you can either wear them as a dress OR a top. As you can see I did both here! When wearing as a dress I did style this with my nude slip underneath just for some extra coverage. If you do not own a slip I HIGHLY suggest one! I can’t tell you how often I wear mine (you can shop my exact one here for under $50).

Then, for a more casual look I paired it with my go-to denim shorts (be sure to check out this post where I rounded up my favorite under $100). I also did my signature front tuck so you can visibly see the shorts! If you haven’t given the “front tuck” a try, you should! I do it with almost all of my outfits!

Now..wish me luck this weekend. We are about to take Palm Springs by storm, and I can’t WAIT to share everything with you guys about our trip!

Girl, you are GORGEOUS and I love this dress so much! I was a little hesitant about the embroidery trend at first, but now I love it and this is the perfect usage of it!
